The Assemblies of God Needs Your Help

I need your help.

When this Fellowship asked me to serve as general superintendent a little over a year ago, it was an overwhelming moment to say the least. Today the harvest has its greatest opportunities in history, yet our aging Fellowship is declining in capacity. 

But quickly the Holy Spirit helped me realize that we have a great family across this nation. As we work together, His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

I come to you with a challenge. This is the first time you as an individual have ever been asked to give to the Assemblies of God. No doubt you have been asked many times to give to programs of our church family, but never to the capacity building of our infrastructure that feeds and supports every aspect of our Fellowship. 

I have never been asked to give to my Fellowship, and I have been a part of it for over two-thirds of its existence!

In the past 50 years, the Assemblies of God USA has grown from 8,000 to 12,300 churches and from .5 million to 2.8 million adherents. All praise to the Lord!

But in recent years, that growth has slowed. History teaches us that when a Fellowship like ours starts going downhill, it is almost impossible to reverse the trend. 
We must act quickly. It is not time to panic, but it is time to act while we are still showing positive growth trends.

We have the opportunity to fix some infrastructure problems of our Fellowship.  These strategic changes will keep us from looking like a 94-year-old denomination and will propel us into our second century with renewed momentum and energy as we seek to fulfill the Great Commission and go into every nation!

We have identified three key areas that will help us empower the generations who come after us to complete the task. These key areas will help keep us a young, vibrant Fellowship even though we are almost 100 years old.

The pages of this special supplement will give you more detail on the three initiatives:

  • Church Multiplication
  • Training Young Leaders
  • Research and Development

To address these key areas of concern will take finances. That is why we have created the Assemblies of God Trust.

The Assemblies of God Trust is being asked to generate the funds to help us plant new, vibrant churches; train leaders from among the 1.1 million young people in our Fellowship; and create cutting-edge materials for the training of all our family.

This is your invitation to be a charter member of the Assemblies of God Trust.  Please take time to prayerfully consider getting in on the ground floor of this effort to propel our Fellowship into the next century of its ministry in a way that has never been witnessed in history. Although we’re getting older, let’s stay young.

It is not by might. It is not by power. It is by His Holy Spirit. We have a Fellowship of almost 3 million, Spirit-filled believers in the United States. As we work together, God will do things far greater than we have ever dreamed.

We have a choice. We can stay the course and remain a great Fellowship of believers in its golden years. Or we can make some strategic adjustments and marvel at what the Holy Spirit does through us and the new generations we empower.

It is our choice. But it is their future.
